Jenny and Ashley Cooke are sisters, 16 and 14 respectively. They're also a hot new Country duo. Originally, they were each working solo in California, each writing their own songs. But the two caught the ear of some of Nashville's movers and shakers and the sisters were advised to work as a duo. Their debut EP, "Songs About You", hit the Internet sites in April of 2011 and they're poised for bigger things to come. Jenny & Ashley's Christmas single is "Winter Wonderland" and you can download it free if you "Like" their Facebook page.

To me, the single most remarkable thing about Tim McGraw is that his father was Mets bullpen ace Tug McGraw. The second most remarkable thing, to me, is that he's married to Faith Hill. But here's something else that's pretty remarkable. Tim McGraw has never officially released a Christmas song...up until this year. Oh, there is one out there, but it wasn't an official release. Near as I can tell, "Dear Santa" was recorded for the 2003 "Very Special Acoustic Christmas" but, for whatever reason, the song never made the set. It was "leaked" in 2004 and it's possible there was promotional distribution to radio stations and whatnot thereafter, but....not an official (and certainly not a commercial) release. And, to my knowledge, "Dear Santa" has still never been commercially available. Ever. (JC Penny comes up a lot in the searches, so perhaps there was a commercial tie in with them at some point; I'm happy to be corrected by anyone who knows the real story). It's a great song, too. Have a listen via YouTube. Of course, its hard to know what to believe since Tim just finished a lengthy battle to get away from his record label, Curb. And, now that he's on his own, the first thing Tim McGraw is doing...is giving away a Christmas song, an upbeat Pop Country tune. "Christmas All Over The World" can be yours for the price of an email address (hey, the man just lost the Curb mailing list after all). Head to Tim's web site or feel free to use the widget above. |
